The Dog's Spot is looking to recruit groomers to join its growing team. Candidates must be at least Level 2 qualified and genuinely love dogs. Those open to weekend working are preferred.

This role requires both technical grooming skills, confident animal handling and excellent customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, and clipping fur according to breed standards and client preferences.
• Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, identifying any potential health issues that may require veterinary attention.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their dogs' needs and grooming options.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly sanitised after each use.
• Handle pets' safely and compassionately, including those that may be anxious or difficult to manage.
• Assist with heavy lifting of larger animals when necessary, ensuring their safety throughout the grooming process.

Experience

• Previous experience is highly desirable and candidates MUST have at least a Level 2 qualification.
• Proven customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets.
• Familiarity with various dog breeds and grooming techniques
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals during grooming sessions.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care is essential for success in this role.

Pay £12.21-£14, depending on experience
